One of our Easter highlights was seeing Garrett sing in Sacrament Meeting with the primary for the first time. He actually knew the words and sang "Tell me the Stories of Jesus". (He didn't know the words for the second song, but still had fun sticking his tongue out and waving.) It has been so great to watch him adjust to Primary the last few months. We were a little worried he wouldn't want to go up to the stand at the last minute, so we were sure to sit by many of his friends. It was great to see them all bravely walk up together. You gotta love peer pressure in these situations.
Since our church is at 8:30 AM, we opted for a late arrival from the Easter Bunny at our house. When we walked in the door after church, Garrett discovered a trail from the Easter Bunny leading up the stairs to his room 
where his Easter Basket was waiting! (This is the first year the Bunny has
not left baskets for me and Jeff. As you can imagine Jeff was relieved by the change in this tradition! Especially since he still gets to eat all the leftover whopper eggs.) After digging through his basket Garrett kept exclaiming things like "I always wanted this! What a nice Easter Bunny!"
Later we had dinner with some friends, the Bunkers and the Riches. The kids all played while we sat down to a great dinner! (Thanks Bunkers for hosting!) We talked about some of our family holiday traditions during dinner and I was reminded that my family really goes all out when it comes to gift-giving holiday mascots. (ie: Santa, Easter Bunny, Cupid, Leprechauns, the Great Pumpkin) The question was raised why nothing on the 4th of July? New tradition maybe?
