Happy Halloween!

With a new baby and a trip to Disney World in October, I knew we needed to decide on costumes early this year. I started talking to Garrett about it during the summer. I was pushing for a pirate. Simple and he likes pirate stuff, but he wasn't going for it. He kept suggesting random things like volcanoes. Of course he changed his mind every other day too. A couple days before our trip, we finally settled on Mickey Mouse. I figured this would be easy to find stuff for in Florida--not so much! Luckily, once we stepped off the Pirates of the Carribbean ride and exited into the everything-pirate-you-could-possibly-imagine-store, all he wanted to dress up as was a pirate! Imagine that. Not wanting to drop a $100 on a costume at Disney World, we bought a couple fun accessories and I improvised the rest of the costume when we got home.
So here's our Pirate. (He's cute with long hair, huh?)
And our little dinosaur. (I found the dinosaur line at Gymboree and couldn't resist!)
Aren't they just so darn cute!
Garrett had a great party at preschool too. They have some pretty strict allergy guidelines this year so there was plenty of jello and marshmallows for all! They did a cute parade and played some fun games like pass the "pass the pumpkin."
Later we went trick-or-treating with a big group of friends. (Boston, Keegan, Garrett, Lily, Jenna, Anna, Sydney, & Sam. Babies Emily, Finn & Chance missed the photo op.) Garrett and Boston were definitely leading the pack, sprinting from house to house. Luckily, Jenna's dad, Brian, was almost as eager as they were and stayed with them while the rest of us maintained a more leisurely pace. This year Garrett even dared to go to the door of the spooky house--a fully decked out house complete with a haunted cemetary in the front yard. Last year he stayed on the opposite side of the street!
When we got home we sorted the candy and opened a fun Halloween package from Grandma Cathy.
Garrett especially liked his Halloween Pez!
